Honey Mustard Chicken Drumsticks

Honey Mustard drumsticks is one of those really simple to make dishes that does not require many ingredients and also requires relatively little effort.  The resulting taste sensation is way above the effort put in.

Mixing honey & mustard is a popular combination and an easy way to bring a wonderful flavour to chicken drumsticks.  Add a little Thyme and garlic and you have a really great sauce to caramelise over your drumsticks while you bake them in the oven.  Using leftover sauce to drizzle when serving simply enhances the overall taste experience.

Serve with your favourite vegetables or perhaps as a snack while you are watching the football.  Whichever way you serve they are definitely a menu item that will become a regular.  Just remember that you will get best results if you can marinate the drumsticks in the honey mustard sauce before you cook them.

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, add honey, white wine vinegar, garlic, dijon mustard, olive oil and thyme leaves. Stir to fully combine.
  2. Add chicken drumsticks and toss to coat with honey mustard sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least one hour to marinate.
  3. Pre-heat a fan forced oven to 200°C (390°F).
  4. Line a large baking tray with baking paper.
  5. Remove chicken drumsticks from refrigerator and place on baking tray.
  6. Brush chicken with honey mustard marinade, place in oven and bake for about 30 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Note: after 15 minutes, rotate chicken on baking tray, brush with marinade and return to oven.
  7. About 10 minutes before the chicken is done, place remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer to allow the sauce to thicken a little.
  8. Once chicken is cooked, remove from oven, serve and top with marinade.
