A good steak dinner is always a favourite in our house. Served with chips & salad is a really simple yet very filling meal. Add a tasty sauce for the steak and you have a fantastic home cooked meal to rival any pub meal.
The steak is cooked to your preference. It is transformed through a fantastic creamy sauce with a mixture of mushroom & red wine. Served with a spinach & avocado salad & chips for a really simple yet incredibly tasty steak dinner.
You can, of course, serve with a variety of favourite vegetables to your preference.

Ingredients
- 40 g Butter separated into 2 x 20g amounts
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 4 Steaks use cut of steak & size to your preference
- 1 Brown Onion diced
- 2 Cloves Garlic Crushed
- 2 tsp Ground Rosemary
- 400 g Mushrooms diced
- 1 cup Red Wine
- 3/4 cup Beef Stock
- 1/2 cup Thickened Cream

Instructions
- Heat 20g butter & olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add steaks and cook to desired taste. Remove from pan, set aside and keep warm.
- Add additional 20g butter to frying pan.
- Add onion, garlic & ground rosemary. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add mushrooms and cook a further 4-5 minutes while stirring regularly.
- Add red wine, stir to mix through and cook a further 2-3 minutes to allow wine to reduce by about 1/3 or so.
- Add beef stock, stir to mix through then reduce heat and simmer =for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add thickened cream, season as required. Stir to mix through and cook a further minute or so.
- Remove from heat.
- Serve by plating steaks and spoon red w1ne mushroom sauce over the top. Suggested serving with baby spinach & avocado salad and chips.
